
Project Leadership Award
The Project Leadership Award is an annual awards program that recognizes Owners’ excellence in project delivery. The Project Leadership Award program promotes leadership, professionalism and management excellence of Owners involved in the design and construction process.
The Award is given to the Owner who achieves excellence by demonstrating exceptional leadership and project management skills which includes; visioning, integrity, team building, communication, fairness, problem resolution, decision-making, plan implementation, etc.
Eligibility
The Project Leadership Award is open to both Public and Private Owners. Owners do not have to be a member of COAA to submit an entry.
The program is open to all types of construction projects, e.g. health care facilities, government buildings, manufacturing plants, educational/research facilities, etc. Renovation and new construction projects, large or small, are eligible for the award. Project size and cost will not be contributing or deciding factors.
Criteria
Project nominated for the Project Leadership Award must have been substantially completed (available for occupancy) between the period January 1, 2009 and the nomination deadline of August 31, 2010. Nominated projects will be reviewed by the Awards Committee which will select projects demonstrating excellence in the following areas:
- Overall Project Management
- Overall Project Success
- Scheduling
- Cost Management
- Quality Management
- Project Complexity
- Conservation and Sustainability
- Team Effort
Awards
The Gold Award is the highest award. Silver Awards and Special Awards may be awarded depending upon the quality/nature of the entries. The Awards Committee reserves the right to select more than one winner.
Awards Committee
All entries will be reviewed by the Awards Committee which will be comprised of a minimum of four (4) COAA members selected by the COAA President.
Submitting Materials
Entries must be received no later than August 31, 2010.
Mail six (6) copies and email one (1) copy of each submission and one (1) DVD/CD with photographs by August 31, 2010, to:

All entries should be submitted using the Nomination form (www.coaa.org - Awards). Nomination Forms must contain all the information requested, shall be legible and presented in a professional manner. Incomplete forms will not be considered for the award.
Complete Nomination Form consists of the following parts:
- Completed application form including Narratives
- Letters of Recommendation
- Photographs (DVD/CD)
- Signed release
(Nomination materials and photographs will not be returned to the applicant and may be used by COAA.)
Award Schedule
Submittals must be received by August 31, 2010. Winners will be notified by September 30, 2010 and the awards ceremony will occur during the COAA Owners Leadership conference to be held in Tampa, FL - November 17-19, 2010.
