Professional Bio

Rick has been with Clayco since the year 2000 and has grown over the years from his start as a project engineer right out of college to an Executive Vice President, Shareholder and leader in the Institutional Business Unit. Rick is responsible for the overall management of the Business focusing on higher education, healthcare and science & technology. He works for success of the projects for both the Team and Owner’s perspective and remains involved throughout. He is proficient in all aspects of design and construction and provides clients with proven solutions and delivers complicated projects on time, on budget and of the highest quality while committed to building lasting relationships in the process. He is a strong advocate for the innovative and collaborative project delivery method that is the foundation of Clayco’s integrated approach, "The COAA Way". He looks for clients, projects and relationships that understand and embrace the partnering concepts. Rick is passionate about our “Beyond These Walls” mantra at Clayco and applies this passion to the leadership of the Institutional Business Unit and takes pride in knowing he is a small part of something so much bigger than himself.

Rick Moeckel, LEED AP BD&C, DBIA, is Vice President & Institutional Business Unit Leader for Clayco, a national design-build company. Rick brings over 21 years of experience to the design-build industry. Rick is involved in the project from beginning to end. He is responsible for the overall management of the Institutional Business Unit, which includes projects in higher education, life sciences, and healthcare sectors.
Rick is proficient in all aspects of design and construction, he provides clients with proven solutions and delivers complicated projects on time, on budget and of the highest quality while committed to building lasting relationships in the process. He is a strong advocate for the innovative and collaborative project delivery method that is the foundation of Clayco’s integrated approach. He looks for clients, projects and relationships that understand and embrace the partnering concepts. Rick oversees the Team and is responsible for the success of the project addressing both the Team and the Owner’s perspective. Rick holds a degree in Construction Engineering from Missouri Western State University.
