Logo Design Competition

Submission Deadline: Monday, October 22, 2018 at 5:00 pm (Eastern)


The COAA Way speaks to a mindset and a way of conducting business.  It is both tangible and intangible, and is based on the principle that a team of People, sharing Best Practices in a Culture of trust & respect, will complete better projects.
The goal is to translate the narrative description of The COAA Way into a logo that conveys the feel and belief system of TCW ... an image that, in the future, is instantly recognized and associated with COAA.
Entry Requirements
  1. Only COAA member organizations – owner or associate – may participate.
  2. Organizations may submit more than one logo, but not more than three.
  3. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 (Eastern) on Monday, October 22, 2018.
  4. Along with the logo itself, applicants shall provide a signed entry form and agreement – one executed form/agreement for each submitted logo.
  5. Each logo shall be provided in three formats – original/native source format, PDF, and high-resolution JPG (300 dpi or higher).
  6. Email the entry form(s)/agreement(s) to Laticia King at lking@coaa.org and provide in that email a file transfer link (e.g., Dropbox or WeTransfer) for the logo(s).

Logo Requirements

Professional: This logo may be featured on the COAA website, social media platforms, and other mediums (print materials, electronic messages, conference app, t-shirts, etc.).  As a result, the logo must be easily recognized and legible.

Color: There are no limitations – any colors may be used – but the logo must look good both in color (if any) and black & white or grayscale.

Integrity: Logos may not contain copyrighted material.  Logos must have been created and edited by the contestant(s).  Logos may not include images or licensed images that have been previously published.  Must be easily reproducible and scalable for large and small formatting.

Contest Details

Finalists (likely 3-5) will be selected from the pool of entries by The COAA Way work group, which includes volunteer leaders and COAA staff.  All applicants will be notified of the “shortlisting” results on or about October 29, and certain finalists may be asked to modify their concept between notification and November 12.
Finalists – and the winning logo – will ultimately be selected by The COAA Way work group, with that decision informed by attendee voting at the fall COAA conference in La Jolla (CA), November 14-16.
COAA reserves the right to cancel the competition or not select a winner if, in its sole discretion, no suitable entries are received.
Legal Terms

Applicants agree that COAA shall own the Artwork submitted, including copyrights, and applicants shall sign provided entry form indicating agreement with the terms of the submission stated in this Call to Artists.

In addition to “bragging rights,” the organization that creates the selected logo will receive two complimentary registrations for the spring 2019 conference and be recognized prominently on the COAA website.
