Need Training Between Conferences and Local Chapter Events?

In addition to COAA's highly valuable local chapter events and in-person national conferences, COAA also offers multiple opportunities for distance learning.  Visit the COAA Owner Training Institute page to learn about training courses, live and on-demand webinars, and Lorman Education Offerings.  

COAA - Virginia Submission Guidelines

  • All presentations must be geared to the Construction Owner (the owner of the project). 
  • The deadline for submissions for spring Workshops is January 31; the deadline for submissions for fall Workshops is June 30.
  • Presentations should be 1-hour in length with 50 minutes of content and 10 minutes of Q & A.
  • COAA's educational programs are "Owners speaking to Owners" with at least one Owner sharing in the delivery of the presentation. 
  • While non-owners (Associates) are certainly welcome to submit and present topics, presentations may not promote products or services. 
  • PowerPoint Presentations are due 2 weeks prior to the Workshop.  A PDF version will be distributed to attendees.   
  • Biographical information and a completed Speaker Agreement will be required about 1 month prior to the conference. 
  • Audio-visual equipment (LCD projector, screen and sound system) will be provided. 
  • While speaker registration is complimentary, each speaker will be responsible for his or her own travel and lodging costs.
