Data Driven Continuous Improvement: Design and Construction at Prologis

Session Number: 22B

Date: 11/16/2018 08:30 AM - 11/16/2018 09:30 AM

The emergence of digital business is disrupting the way that our industry works. Continuing leadership requires that innovation and disruption be a core element of our growth strategy. This session will examine how Prologis is leveraging innovative technology to redefine collaborative core business processes in development and construction to create a competitive advantage. Access to and management of cost and performance data in the collaborative world of site development and construction has long been a critical issue in our industry. Multi-company workflows and data ownership concerns across a diverse project team are among the many challenges facing project and program managers. In this session, we will discuss challenges related to managing individual projects, developing standards and sharing information across global projects and leveraging data and analytics for continuous improvement. Our development and construction objective is to profitably produce the highest performing capital assets for our customers at the lowest possible cost. This is only possible when all project participants realize value. Traditional GC-centric approaches to collaboration in our industry have failed to deliver value, and in many cases, actually created inefficiencies for our ecosystem of subcontractors. Supply chain inefficiencies will always flow back upstream. We will examine a network-based approach to collaboration that delivers sustainable value to both Prologis and our ecosystem of contractors and suppliers.
