Target Value Design (TVD) is a systematic approach to estimating cost and value during the design and delivery of a project. Rather than wait for milestones to do a full budget update, TVD constantly monitors costs as the design is developed and construction ensues. Hear from the PennFirst Team how the use of parametric modeling provides a powerful tool for doing “what if” scenarios. As the design is fluid and changes can – and will – occur throughout a project, parametric modeling offers a real-time “look” into various cost scenarios. The real-time benefit has allowed the team to easily and quickly make changes utilizing concurrent price evaluations for timely and effective decision making and designing for what is constructible.
