Stanford University School of Medicine, University of California, San Francisco and Santa Clara University, each recently built similar and comparable sized facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area using different delivery models ranging from public-private partnerships to CM at Risk and Design-Build. This presentation will explore the differences, similarities and lessons learned by contrasting the three approaches and provide valuable insight into best practices for a time-and cost-efficient delivery. In addition, the panel will cover how these methods are affected by differing cultures, donor involvement, changes in the assumption of risk, obligations during the design phase, and best practices. Through an interactive dialogue, attendees will learn how to achieve great projects in their own unique setting and manage “institutional change.”
