David is a practicing architect and a Vice President of Corgan Associates, Inc., an international design firm with over 700 employees, based in Dallas (TX).
David’s areas of practice include master planning and design for higher education, technology, civic and cultural clients. Architecture at its best reveals hidden stories about each site and context. David’s approach is focused on discovering these stories behind each site and context; approaching architecture as a collaborative art that encourages input from diverse creative disciplines. Notable clients include University of North Texas, Texas A&M University, Panola College, Dallas County College, Tarrant County College, Dallas Theological Seminary, The Sixth Floor Museum, Texas State Technical College, and numerous other public and private institutions. David’s work, in collaboration with his colleagues, has received many awards, including recent design and industry awards for the Bezalel Academy of Arts, Jerusalem Competition and Preservation Dallas for the Dallas County College’s - District Offices Adaptive Re-use.
David’s work for Panola College and the Sixth Floor Museum has been featured in AIA’s Architecture for the Decade national exhibition. David has served as the 2011 President of AIA Dallas, the sixth largest component of the American Institute of Architects. He has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Center for Architecture Foundation and is a graduate of the Business Council for the Arts 2009-2010 Leadership Arts Institute. In 2006, he was recognized as Architect of the Year by the Dallas AIA and was honored by Corgan with the Phil Mein Design Excellence Award. In 2011, David was named an Outstanding Alumnus of the College of Architecture, Texas A&M University and in 2013, he was awarded the President’s Medal by AIA Dallas for his service to the profession and community.
David, a native Texan and resident of Dallas, also serves his profession through close interaction with the academy. David frequently serves as a visiting critic and juror for design studios and as a mentoring resource for architectural students and interns. He also lectures widely about design and professional practice, drawing connections between architecture, media and culture.
