OTI Instructor Bio
Tim joined Cooper Carry – a full-service design firm with offices in Atlanta, Alexandria, and New York – in 1989 and is Principal of the firm’s Higher Education Studio. He has guided the design of campus master plans, student housing, recreational/wellness centers, student centers, classroom facilities, libraries, and schools. He also has extensive experience in the hospitality practice. He has completed dozens of projects from programming through punch list using multiple project delivery methods, including design-bid-build, design/build, bridging documents, and CM At-Risk (CMAR). His works have earned many awards and accolades for their design and sustainable qualities.
Tim is a member of several organizations, including the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). He earned both a Bachelor and Master of Architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology; is certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB); and is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). He has been an Owner Training Institute instructor since the inception of the CMAR course. When he is not working, he likes to travel with his wife and grown (sort of) kids, head to the mountains with his backpack, tinker with old cars, or spend time in the woodshop.
