OTI Instructor Bio
Antonin “Tony” Aeck formerly served as managing principal and chairman of the architecture, interiors, planning, and preservation practice LORD AECK SARGENT, which has offices in six U.S. cities and has completed projects in 35 states and five countries.
Today, Tony remains a senior principal with the firm, based in its Atlanta office. Although the focus of Tony’s four-decade career has been institutional, governmental and housing projects, his experience includes such specialized commissions as an anti-terrorism first-responder center at the U.S. Pentagon, the historic restoration of two Georgia capitols, a new national mosque for the nation of Nigeria, and a sustainable transit station in Beijing.
A recognized, innovative leader of his profession who was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architecture in 2001, Tony has also served a wide variety of community organizations. He developed his appreciation for the Owner’s role serving a long tenure as building and grounds committee chair of a nationally known private school.
Tony holds bachelor’s degrees in science and architecture from Rice University, where he graduated magna cum laude. A former hot air balloon maker and licensed pilot, Tony’s recent recreational focus centers on hosting community events in a backyard amphitheater he built overlooking the Chattahoochee River.
