Join us for a fantastic educational and networking event at University of Houston's brand new RAD Center, November 7, 2024, 4-6:30pm. This event is designed to bring together like-minded professionals who are passionate about facilities development and capital improvement projects. Whether you are a public or private owner, a college or university, a local or state government representative, a healthcare organization, or a representative from industries such as lodging, manufacturing, or retail, you are welcome to attend.

We will begin with an educational session on Mass Timber, providing 1 CEU LU. We will continue the engagement with a networking mixer with heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. The event promises to be an excellent opportunity to network, share experiences, and learn from peers, and partners in the industry.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM Mass Timber Discussion Join Scott Brown, DPR's Mass Timber Specialist to learn about the design, assembly and processes of mass timber and prefabrication. Scott brings a unique perspective, learned from jobsites and manufacturing facilities management experience, enabling him to drive to evolution of integrating manufactured components into construction processes. 
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Networking Network with your peers while enjoying heavy hors d'oeuvres and drinks. 

The Industry Momentum of Mass Timber

The Construction Owners of America - Texas Chapter's AIA CE credits presentation on Mass Timber will provide an in-depth exploration of this innovative building material and its increasing role in construction. The presentation will highlight industry momentum, the advantages of Mass Timber—such as sustainability, speed of construction, and design flexibility—and address challenges like supply chain and regulatory considerations. DPR's approach, emphasizing early engagement and insurance considerations, will be featured. The session will conclude by identifying applicable markets and potential structural systems for Mass Timber integration.
